SD and mini-SD WiFi cards

Just found SD and mini-SD WiFi cards on ebay. Presume they will require operating stacks on the Prop so not sure if they are useful.

Thought I would just post the info anyway. Would be a neat solution though, especially since a number of you are interfacing SD cards.

I have one that I hoped to interface with. Problem is that all the vendors keep their interface code secret. So, without disassembling their drivers, there's no way to figure out how to talk with it...

There are some linux driver sources around and I think I remember seeing a wifi driver in the windows ddk. This would give you enough. A few cards need significant software on the host side (apart from tcpip stack) but most have the majority of the 802.11 MAC and PHY on the card.
One problem you will have is the 802.11 specs are not easily available. You either need to buy them from the IEEE or attend the IEEE meeting. Understaning the card interface without understanding the 802.11 MAC/PHY specs would be not easy

I saw my first one this week, A guy brought it in the shop with a PDA wanting to trade for a Laptop!
At the very least, it would eliminate a lot of the hardware needed to network the prop!
