Thanks, I finally got it to work. The mcode Help
is useful too. It's actually the first time I noticed it.
Works very slick and has some good examples.
I find it easier to put the word I want, highlight it and then select the link icon from the editor toolbar. It provides a URL input and no editing is required. 1-step link creation.

I'm strictly a text guy and like my links underlined. So I just type: [u][url=www.parallax.com]Parallax[/url][/u].

Phil,
·· So, for me, if I wanted the link underlined, I just highlight THIS, select the link icon from the toolbar, set my url, then click Ok and U from the editor toolbar.· Typing all the code manually takes too long for me.· ;)

You must be using Internet Explorer. That doesn't work for me under Opera. (Most of my replies are typed into the Quick Reply box anyway.) Besides, anyone who knows me will say it's a control issue. I just can't help it.
Sorry, yes, it is.· I had forgotten that with different browsers the online editor changes slightly.· For those using IE they should see like what I have attached.· I circled in red the link icon from the editor toolbar.· Take care.

Chris, thanks for the clarification. Mozilla Firefox
works differently and users will need to type in
the recommended text-html format. By the way,
thanks for the great job in moderating the forum.
I also like to change the color of the word or phrase (via the color pull down menu) so that the reader knows it's a link, this must be done after creating the URL link because making the url erases the color formatting. A "groan" is that when doing multiple urls, you need to set it to default or another color before switching it to the final color (because reselecting the same color doesn't work). Also I don't underline the link beause an underline appears when the user hovers over the link, this provide confirmation it is a link with the user having to click on it, and using underline hides this behavior.
I hadn't thought about changing the color, since blue seems to be standard for links. What color do you use?
I've been adding the underline, because I've found that short words used as links tend not to stand out from normal text. This is because the blue link color in the default small, lightweight font isn't sufficiently contrasty with the black text. (In a heavier typeface or larger font, it wouldn't be a problem.) As a consequence, people might miss the fact that there's a link embedded in the text. In my browser, at least, when I hover over a link, the arrow cursor changes to a pointing finger to indicate that it's a link. As an alternative to underlining, I've also tried boldface, but it seems a bit too chunky looking for that purpose.
I use either blue or green with a slight preference towards green since it seems to "pop" (ugh I hate using the marketing context use of that word)·just the right amount by drawing your attention to it without screaming it's presence. The use or non-use of underlining is pure preference, I don't include them because I want the link to act and behave as a normal link and an underlined phrase may be used for emphasis without indicating presence of a link, but those who prefer to use underlining should continue to use it.

It has no link icon. Are you talking about
the small box that says, URL?
