Problem with DEBUG

I have been trying out the code for saving and retieving data from a serial eeprom.· I used the 512 code and made changes for the 128.· When I run DEBUG, the variables eebyte and eeresult show as $BD and $FC respectively.· Having spent a lot of time trying to understand what was wrong, I added the output to the LCD screen and there the variables would correctly display if I changed them in the code.· I am using the SX KEY rev F.· I programs and verifies the code but apparently has problems with the Debug.· Does this mean I have·damaged my SXKEY in some way?
