RCTIME syntax question

Hello.··Does SX/B have a slightly different (enhanced?) RCTIME syntax vs. BS2?

I noticed that in RCTIME1.SXB of chapter 11 of "Practical SX/B", there is a statement

RCTIME PotPin, 1, potVal, 3

The last value, 3, seems new to SX/B.· But I've checked the Basic Stamp manual, and it does NOT allow such variable.

Does SX have an enhanced version of RCTIME because of its speed?·

I think I understand how SX/B's RCTIME now, but can anyone offer some more explanation as to when/why you would need to use this?

I mean, BS2p is quite fast also, but it does not offer an option for this 4th variable.·

Thanks.

The last option is a resolution (or scale) factor.
This was used because SX/B only had BYTE variables in the early days.

    Bean, thanks for your comment.·

Since SX/B now offers Word, I guess the·4th variable is not required for most applications?

But can I use the·4th variable with Word (for extremely long RC time)?

Yeah you should be able to use the resolution parameter with WORD vars.
I've never tried it, but it should work.
