small scale production
Ok folks I have a client that wants to move that servo clock project to production. A sx46 chip looks to be the best and has the needed 30 IO pins. My question is there anyplace out there that can or will handle production of about 2-3 thousand per year.

It looks more like a personal type machining service, but you may be able to negotiate a deal.
You might get Bean or Timothy D. Swieter to comment on this. They both seem to know a good bit about production.

zippyflounder - I don't know the project you are talking about specifically, can you post a link? How big are the electronics/PCB? How complicated is the assembly? Are you providing kits or full assemblies?
There are several options for produciton, especially with the quantities you posted. There are options in both the USA and in the east (China). Which area of the USA are in you in? (I assume you are in the USA, I should be careful with my assumptions). There may be a PCB assembly house in your area that you can work with. I can recommend a place in Florida. I also know there is Screaming Circuits which offers pricing and such online. For doing work in China we would have to search out factories and there are a couple I could recommend that I have worked with.
