I'm always looking for ways to make Prop development more portable.

I just ordered one of these... Should replace the need for a composite screen or audio..

@Bean: These are perfect for your board..

    So this thingy pumps the video and sound back to the computer? So is there any special software on the laptop side to show the "screen"?
    Cheaper then buying a small lcd! Me thinks me get one too!

    http://www.woot.com/ has the a similar device, the Dazzle DVD Recorder on sale for $19.99 + shipping today. Some of these types of devices introduce a small time lag. This means some of these devices will not work well if you're planning to connect your video game console to play a game on your PC monitor.

    Mine was only 17.95 I think from Mwave.com. I can have the propeller tool open in one window and usb video input device(hooked to the prop demo board) in another window at the same time!

    Gents,

    This really isn't any different than a TV tuner/capture card. I've been using one for a couple months on my desktop with much success. I agree too, there is about a 1-2 second lag between an input on my demolition board and what comes up on screen. The best part with these things is the ability to take screen grabs (or record what's going on) then post them to a forum post for debugging. WAAAYYYY better than taking a picture of your TV screen with a camera!

    I've got a Dazzle DVD recorder, but I can't find any way to get it's picture full-screen (the S/W that's shipped only has a tiny preview window that can't be re-sized) - no time lag though wink.gif

    You'll always have as many take-offs as landings, the trick is to be sure you can take-off again ;-)

    Silly question - why don't you just use the FDX object and PST (this is whay I do)? You probably could just plug the audio into the pc audio in and run a pc app for this.

    If you use the tv.out, then add to the FDX code a pub fdx.out and use the exact format of the fdx.tx pub and it calls fdx.tx
    something like ... (not verified)
    PUB out(txchar)
    tx:=txchar

    Then you only need to change the
    OBJ
    tv = "tv"
    tv = "FullDuplexSerial"

    I just got the Kworld capture device today..

    I'm fairly impressed with the unit. Graphics Demo looks pretty good.
    (I'll do a capture later) I'm recording at 30fps which is fine for
    the reason I purchased.

    It does work with VLC player, but I'm still working out the color settings.
    Sooner or later I'll nail down the perfect Hue/Saturation settings.

    I'm impressed enough to recommend it for Propeller use.
