Spice or Simulation software?

I have searched the forums and not found this. I am wondering if there is a thread or sticky dedicated to linking to freeware, shareware, cheapware electronic simulation software, preferably with graphical data entry and netlist output?

If there isn't a sticky, should there be?

Thank you, Tom Perkins

    LTspice/SwitcherCAD is a good free one (www.linear.com/designtools/software/index.jsp).

I have Spice loaded in my Linux side of this computer's dual boot. Linux seems to offer a lot of free electronics software. Mine came with an Ubuntu8.04 installation, you just have to activate it. I've taken a peek but must say it is quite daunting.

You still have to create a schematic as a means to input the data and it requires overcoming a learning curve to get good results with the software. SPICE is only as good as the component data that is input along with the design.

I find that most digital design work doesn't require such heavy engineering. It is more useful for analog work.

There have been some excellent suggestions.

    Thank you.

I am right now climbing the LT spice learning curve.

I still wonder if spice/simulation software shouldn't be a sticky somewhere?
