I'd love to see some Parallax users post their Battle Bots if they have built any.

My guess is that battle bot people are more mechanical, and don't focus on the programming since you can RC the Bot. From some of the sites that I've seen, it looks like the closest to program that they get is to connect the wires to the RC reciever. However, they do build wonderful platforms. However, there's always odd balls who break the boundries. Wouldn't that be disconcerting: to see an autonomous robot beat a human controlled one?

If one could program it's aggressive behaviors, it might have a better response time and also be more aware of how to survive. Just use the R/C for navigation.

Yes, I really do like their platforms -- very durable and powerful

A good use of the programming would be to have one command do multiple actions. That way the enemy would have to do some triage. Enough of that and you can win.

    Command:
    -Ram

    Actions:
    -Drive forward
    -raise arms to flip enemy
    -flip down hammer
    -spin
    -spin enemy in grasp

    Just a thought.

I was just watching a nature show on local T.V.

I never knew Moray eels had such complex mouths.

Teeth-wise, they have additional middle row of teeth in their upper jaw that makes them look really nasty.

Jaw-wise, they have a double action bottom jaw that is a bit too exotic to describe in words. In sum, it allows an expanded bit like a snake, but has a second pair of bones for better control of movement.

One of our local robot clubs has a standing offer of a cash prize for any autonomous bot that can win one of it's competitions. So far I don't think anybody has even tried ! Although they are not really battle bots, most Sumo bots are autonomous. Unfortunately, the club doesn't do Sumo. We do however use autonomous bots for line following and maze solving, but those are definitely battle bots.

I can imagine the distress: "Your battle-bot just ate mine! Make it spit it out! Hurry! Bottie!..."
