how to learn assembly language

quick question!
i would like to learn the assembly language as applied to the propeller chip. can anyone recommend a good book for this? i like books that have a "learn by doing" approach. i'd prefer not to get a textbook as that would prolly run me around $80 or so. i'm not a veteran programmer, but i do understand programming. whenever i look at code in objects that contain assembly, i understand what it's doing so i don't think i'll have much trouble learning it.
thanks in advance.

Good luck! Oh - you'll probably run into some math questions - the propeller wiki has a great article on it here.

Concentrate on understanding the problem, not applying the tool
