Motors from remote control toys

Hello

I have a motor out of an old remote control toy the battery is 9.6v .. I have never seen one with a capacitor between the positive and negitive power connections what may this be.

I would like to use this in something i am trying to build using a relay but i dont know what this capacitor does it has a 104 on it and it is a pancake looking thing.

Just ignore it. It's a small, non-polarized, capacitor to minimize radio interference in nearby (usually AM) radios.

Depending on what you bought, it might be easier to send signals to the chip that was in the car rather than use a relay or H Bridge. If its a high end car (for racing) then it most likely has a 3 wire interface that you could use.
