Rogue Robotics MP3 Player

I have been using the Rogue Robotics MP3 player successfully for some time (connected to a Stamp2P etc) to play sound effects, but I've just started to read and write data files, and I'm having some problems

Has·anyone successfully written a data file? I get only errors (EF2) when I try to open a new file.

I have tried calling the manufacturer, but all I get is·'leave a message'

Thanks, John Burrow·

That's why I don't use Rogue Robotics any more. I had built a sound sequencer (like the Propeller one I did - see Completed Projects) using a Stamp for a controller. I couldn't get the data file I/O to work reliably, then, when I stored all the sequence information in the Stamp's EEPROM instead of on the memory card, it would run for a day or two, then the Stamp and MP3 player would lose sync with each other. Rogue Robotics was very slow in responding to e-mails, finally acknowledged a subtle timing bug, but never (as far as I know) fixed it. In any event, they didn't notify me. Admittedly, for some of this time they were moving to new offices, but I was underwhelmed with the support.

I have been pleased with the VMusic2. It performed flawlessly for several weeks unattended playing short (15 second to several minutes) tracks in a cycle of nearly an hour.
