Protoboard w/USB==Expanded features?

I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this, but
I've got to ask... Is the onboard USB chip on the Protoboard
pretty much the same as the Propplug? In otherwords,
Any chance that we can do more than just program with this port?

1. Pull power from USB, rather than requiring an extra wall wart or 9V. Just plug it in and hack.
2. Provide the ability to access the USB pins from prop pins or something like this, so the
simple USB keyboard/mouse interface software running in the prop itself could be used.
