Temperature shut down

I need to interface a thermistor to the BS2. It needs to turn off an output when the temperature exceeds a set amount as a safety circuit for a heating element. Thanks for any help in advance.

    Well, you can create a resistor divider with the thermistor and a resistor between VDD and VSS. The junction would go to an I/O pin via 220 ohm resistor. The configuration will depend on the coefficient of the thermistor (positive/negative). For an adjustable unit use a potentiometer (or trimmer pot) in place of the fixed resistor.
