Cellular Phone Interface???

Just curious if anyone has tried interfacing a cell phone via a serial interface using standard AT commands? If so, would you be willing to share your code?

If not, Ill give it a shot and share when I get something working. I plan on using a proven ATT Go Phone C168i, which has a serial interface and is something you can get just about anywhere for about $15. THis application has lots of uses such as tracking with a GPS, UAV remote control, home automation, etc.

Thanks,

Joe

I just bough a C168i yesterday for the same purpose. I'm going to use it as a tracker for a balloon project I'm working on. It looks like you just throw serial strings at it with the correct AT commands. I can't find ay info about what baud it operates at. Do you know if the TTY settings in the menu have anything to do with the serial port? Keep us posted with any solutions you come up it.
