I just got my bot working (again), and I would like to see how it does on computers out side my home, if anyone would like take a look and let me know if it works,

I want to make sure:
you see live video
the sliders work for the pan and tile
the Ping sensors are working
if you could let me know which browser, and what type of PC your using (pc or mac) that would be great. Thanks and enjoy,

....if video doesn't start hit the connect button.

here is the link http://71.219.69.231/Mappingbot.htm

username: pinkuser
pass: ajaxftw

p.s. the bot won't move, that disabled for testing.

Thanks

That link is a local address on your home network, not accessible outside.
    (Anything 192.168.xxx.xxx works that way).

Hi Dgswaner, just tried the link at 1:40pm GMT not sure whether you had it switched on or not as i got the interface page and when i pressed connect i got both green leds on but no video or apparent movement from the buttons i'm afraid.

The screen eventually shows a red x in the top left corner as is usual when you cant download a picture

the left hand screen shows no movement, what should happen? should the digits increase, should the icon move?

sorry cant help you much there but would love to see it up and working properly, looks good.

sorry nearly forgot the info you wanted:

IE7 Acer Aspire laptop running windows XP

    Update 2:00pm GMT

Got a picture! only static though and pan tilt or movement buttons dont seem to be doing anything, will keep trying.

    Update 2:08pm GMT

Controls still not doing anything but picture may be still video as i can now see robots shadow :)

Seemed to work for me. Very cool project. I'm glad this is being worked on.

    FF 3.0
    Winblows XP
    IBM Intellistation M Pro

I'd recommend you add some explanation of what the buttons do, so we aren't just sliding and waiting for some reaction (aka, slide left, zoom out, slide in, focus in, etc...)

    Nice work!

Looks like video is not auto updating, not sure if it is me or someone else moving robot but if i press connect after moving controls i get a new view on screen although static.

should i be seeing moving video or does it refresh every minute or so?

I was just looking at it also, from work. I think it might be that too many users are looking at it. the cam only supports 4 users at a time.

Skylight, you should see live video. Can you tell me what browser your using? and what type of OS.

    Thanks

something has run amuck, I'll have to wait until I get home to reset everything, there does seem to be an issue on some systems with the video not updating. it works great at home but that defeats the point of a web enabled bot.

I'm going to modify the interface a bit to try and make thinks more clear, on how to operate it.

Thanks for the help thus far.

Not working now. I just tried from here in Taiwan.
I do get a reponse to PING and it takes about 320ms round trip·to respond.
    I'm using Windows Internet Explorer.

You might need to open up ports in your router/gateway firewall - if you have one involved.

Hi. I tried it at 11:10 PM PST with IE7 and Windows XP on a desktop, and was not able to load the page :(
Did you turn it off, or is it me?
