Hello-
I am a former propeller user returning to the fold. I had to buy a new PC, which regrettably came with Windows Vista Home Premium. I have had no end of trouble trying to launch Propeller Tool v1.2. I have installed and uninstalled many times. Any help?
-Thanks

As I say with ALL users that roll their eyes expecting vista to blow up their machine...

All Parallax products and FTDI Drivers are perfectly compatible with Vista.

What are the issues that you are seeing?

This is true i run vista and have no problems running Propeller Tool v1.2. I also use the FTDI drivers and again no problems. Perhaps a more specific report of the problems would clear things up.

I'm running 64-bit Vista on a 4GB laptop; no troubles.

I'm also using Vista, and have had no troubles with proptool, and FTDI drivers, which is more than I can say for Visual Studio 6 Installation lol as this no longer works, which is a shame, because VB6 was great for fast prototyping of simple windows apps.

I have PropTool 1.1 and now 1.2 running. PropTool 1.1 has a compile bug in short programs. PASD and PST also work on Vista. Perhaps you have an FTDI driver problem?

I've have VB6 SP6 running on Vista. Haven't done much with it though. Hippy might be able to answer the VB6 problem better.

Thats what I would suspect, that the 32 bit FTDI driver needs to be replaced with a 64 bit version.

Mostly Win98SE / MS-DOS prompt and the occasional XP when I want to run the PropTool. I've seen Vista but never used it in anger so cannot help with VB6 or Visual Studio.

Well as far more specificity, Im not sure what to say. I tried the old stand by to all computer problems...I shut my machine down and restarted it...tried to launch and SUCCESS!! I am sorry for wasting everyone's time...

If it wasn't working, then it wasn't a waste of time. :)

On the subject of restarting and fixing things ... yesterday I had the PropTool start up with " and @ keys switched, closed and restarted and they'd gone back to what they should have been. Very peculiar.
