serial lcd 2X16 (#27977)

Hi

Is thier a large difference in hardware between a BPI-216 and an Parallax serial LCD type #27977. I have several sx running on the BPI-216 display using a max233 without any problem. Now I try to convert the program (sx/B) to work with the 27977 but I get nothing on the display. So I was wondering if the 27977 can also work with a max233. In the manual they mention nothing about that.

Has someone experiance with the display 27977 conected true a max233 on a sx (sx/b programm)

Thanks for the example. Now the LCD is running fine on 9600 baud. If I change the settings and the dip to 2400 it is not functioning. I don't know wy but it is not a problem. I'll leave it on 9600 baud.

There's a constant in the program that sets the baud rate. If you can use it at 9600 (or 19.2), why would you want to use 2400?
