Emic probs!!! Help!
Hello All,
I have just bought an EmicTTS Module and got it up and running with my propeller. I am using the program that Raymond Allen created and I was using his interface method with the prop included in his program. Everything worked fine until it just stopped working! It does everything like it's supposed to; it receives the string of information on what to say, the status led goes red indicating that it is talking, but the only thing that comes out of the speaker is a constant static noise that continues the entire duration of the Emic talking. Then when it's done talking the static noise stops. It was LITERALLY working fine with the program I had written. Then I redownloaded the program and it just started doing what I described. Believe me, I have more than quadruple checked the connections to and from the Emic and sound amplification circuit, everything is like it's supposed to be. The only thing wrong is it is simply NOT TALKING. Also I noticed that in Raymond's program it would return a false value if something went wrong while it was trying to talk (being the BUSY pin was high or the received data did not match the sent data). The returned value is NOT true so there is something wrong. It is trying to talk so apparently it's not the BUSY pin, so the received data does not match the data sent by the propeller. I saved up a long time for this (14, no job
) and now it's not working less than a week after I bought it!? I'm freaking over here.
Any help would be VERY appreciated,
Robofreak
*NOTE* I attached Raymond's program "Emic_driver" and my program using his "EmicTTS". I made a small addition to his program so that I could tell it to pronounce values up to 99. That isn't interfering with the operation of the Emic though.

I saw the link to this thread on your site. Have you contacted the Parallax technical support folks?
