Question about the HB25 and opto-isolation..
Hello to all and good morning....Well I have build what I call Robo Caddy to·follow me and·carry my golf clubs around the links.· This device uses 3 sonic sensors from Senscomp to detect me to the left, center, or right and stop when it gets close to me.· All that works well, except I am having problems with my homebrew H bridge.· Actually, the BBQ happened due to the low current value of the P channel mosfet in the H bridge.· My fault actually.
Now to the question...I always use optoisolation on all of my outs and ins on a stamp.· Can the HB25 pulsewidth needed for control·be satisfactory transmitted thru an optoisloator such as the PS-2502-4?· Or will there be some loss or error in the time of the pulsewidth as it goes thru the optoisolator.· This may seem like a silly question, but before I spend the money for the HB25's, I would like to know.· Another question, perhaps there is already some sort of isolation built into the HB25, and the PS-2502-4 I am using is not necessary?
I have attached a camera phone photo of Robo Caddy (sort of poor quality), minus the H Bridge drivers (loose wires hanging out of the center box).· Actually, the design of the electronics and software was easy, compaired to finding motors (ebay), gear boxes (National Power Chair) and sprockets, chains, and wheels·(Surplus Center) and fitting all that stuff together.
Hope Robo Caddy will improve my slice...

But, you have to read the PDF sheets for the ones you prefer to use to find actual values.
100microseconds appears to be your limit. I find it interesting that you are using a Darlington opto-isolator. You may not need that feature to drive the HB-25.

It's sunny and warm here. It is always sunny and warm here.... (unless a typhoon blows through).
