This is not a display but just the touch-panel that goes on top of it.

Explains the price, doesn't it? lol.gif

(I was probably giving wrong information here)

I don't know...the ad is rather ambiguous. Does it include the display or not??

"Scratch, break or have dead pixels on your LCD touch screen display? Get a replacement, or an extra for spare. "

A new touch screen doesn't fix dead pixels. I know it's an ad...and at the price I would also guess it's just the touch panel.

Probably they hope you buy the pad, and then realize, you also need this:

Check this site for cheaper DS parts http://www.dealextreme.com/

example touch overlay listed above, was only $3.85 with free shipping

I have never ordered from them but their prices are quite a bit cheaper and include with free shipping (though I've heard it's a bit slow).

I thought I read somewhere about "dead" pixel...that's way I was sure they were talking about a display....

I think they are talking about the bottom display. The top display on the DS is just a display. The bottom is a touch display. I believe this is the whole package (that is the complete bottom LCD touch screen display).

It is hard to see how you could go wrong at $10. Order on and see!

just to clarify, looking at the picture, it only shows the smaller 4 wire cable, and the descripton says it's the touch screen, so, it's not the actual display screen, and you an get it cheaper from dealextreme, as Mathew Hay stated, and as someone who has purchased from dealextreme, yes, it takes some time ~3 weeks ( as they are in china and it had to come through UK customs (which is the bottleneck) to get to me ) they have great deals, I don't know how they can afford to sell something for $2 dollars with free shipping and make any profit, but hey they do sell stuff mega cheap, and with free shipping, so can't complain at the delay :)

I actually just recieved a Nintendo DS top screen from ebay link :

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-TOP-LCD-Screen-For-NINTENDO-DS-LITE-NDSL-Tools-AU_W0QQitemZ200243677192QQihZ010QQcategoryZ98418QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I had the intention of maybe using it for some kind of prop based project (have many that could use it) and for the price it seemed like a good idea.· The plan was to get some kind of manufacturer info to possibly use it, unfortunately it has no markings whatsoever, and only the little flexible track you can see in the photo's.

I may have wasted my money but someone here (smarter than me) may have some idea's on hacking it, it is such a nice little compact screen. Specs from Wiki :

·TFT LCD, resolution of 256 x 192 pixels, dimensions of 62 x 46 mm and 77 mm diagonal, and a dot pitch of 0.24 mm.

    Cheers.

    Russell.

No model number or markings of any sort, only connector is the little flex track you can see in the photo, it is a proprietary connector for the DS, fun part will be to work out how to hook it up.

If you have a DS... an Oszi and a LA... all could be possible, if not... it is the same as a... N95 display or similar :-(
