ROBOT magazine just published·an article I wrote about making a Scribbler robot track an IR signal to find its own charger. An excerpt·is in the new Sept/Oct issue, but the full article is online with details, mods, photos, schematics, and code. Hope some of you will try some of the experiments. The first part (Phase 1) is just a download, no mods, no drilling, no soldering. But you can get your hands dirty in Phase 2 if you like. I welcome any feedback you may have about the article.

I remember when you first told us about this, but said we had to wait until the issue came out before giving us any information lol. Well it was an excellent article! I want to incorporate a simular project into my robot, except i want to have the base powered by solar energy. It`s a pretty simple mod and i will let you all know how it goes.

Excellent article Erco! A job well done!
The concept you developed for Scribbler
is highly useful for other robots too,
which just goes to show the value of your
    well thought out designs, implemented
    concepts, clean code, and concise
    hardware.
