Hi,

Only to know if Parallax microcontrollers ( B.Stamps, Propeller or
SXs ) are open source.

Thanks, Joe
Ps: Perhaps it is a very basic question, sorry.

The SX microcontrollers are not open source because they're considered hardware and there's no "source" involved.
The various development tools are not open source.

The Basic Stamps are not open source. The Basic interpreter and its compiler are proprietary to Parallax.
There's a tremendous volume of sample code, but that's not open source although it's freely usable.

The Propeller is not open source in that the bootloader and Spin interpreter in the ROM are proprietary to Parallax.
The Propeller Tool is also proprietary to Parallax. There is a large library of I/O drivers and sample code that is
essentially open source and published under the MIT License. See the Propeller Object Exchange for details.
