scanner step motors

Hi every one

I have alot of scanners and printers that are old so Im takeing·ther stepper motors and Im woundering.
How·can I·use them with my BASIC Stamp?
I wold like eny bit of information.

You need to find out just what they are and what signals they need to work. Then you program the Stamp to supply those needs. When you find out how they work come back with specific questions, thanks.

Thanks Stephen but the promlem is that i dont know how thay work the only thing I know i that thay have 5 wiers and thay are called stepper motors.

Do some research:

The Wikipedia has articles on stepper motors. Do a web search for "wiki stepper motor".

Do a web search for stepper motors and look at the datasheets for some typical ones

Parallax sells some stepper motor controllers. Go to their webstore for these and read the documentation.
They're made by a 3rd party. Go to their website and see what they have for documentation.
