Hi.
I have a small robotics project that I need some direction on for power.· There will be a basic stamp, a geared motor that I want to run at 12 V if I can, plus a video camera that needs 9 volts.· I would like to get by with 2 9 volt batteries if possible because of weight. Can they be put in series and design a power supply circuit of come kind to get these voltages.· Camera is 9 VDC.· Can anyone point me in the right diirection or offer suggestions.
Thanks

If you are talking about the 9V battery with the snaps on the end you will not have enough AH to drive your bot for any length of time. Depending on size use NiMH or alkaline batteries.

Look at possibly a 12-volt 5AH battery or something along those lines. You can probably get something smaller if the weight is too much but this would be able to run your robot for a fairly good length of time. They are also re-chargeable so it will save on cost. If you use the 12volt battery use the 12v directly for your motor then just use a 7809 regulator for the camera and basic stamp. Run the stamp off of the 9 volt and let the regulator built onto the stamp board step it down to the final 5 volt for the stamp...
