Hi,
I have built a balancing robot using Ping))) ultra sonic sensor, full details here:
http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?p=728541
The ping))) sensor works well, but has its own limitations
I started the same project, replacing the Ping))) with a Memsic 2125 accelerometer
The robot·gets very unstable, it seems that the Mensic is confused by the movement it generates
Please see: http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?p=684138
The way to go is combining accelererometer and gyro
Please let me know the gyro that would make the best combination with the Mensic
I would also appreciate a pointer to some code to start with.
I understand this project is not an easy task, as Kalman filter technology is implied
But are we really looking for easyness in this forum ??· ·
TIA
yves

I found this informative thread: http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?p=696561
but it is based on Propeller chip whose language looks Chinese for me
Any basic stamp·experience with an accelerometer/gyro combo ??

You are right,·Sparkfun's 5DOF accelerometer/gyro board seems to perfect for the job
