Hi,
For anyone working on my posting issue, I can post a quik reply. I can not start a new subject, post a big reply , reply to a PM or edit a post. After I post a quik reply I am stuck at the page I'm at.

Brian,

Have you tried clearing your browser cache? What browser are you using? It sounds like it has to be related to the browser.

My first thought was a possible browser issue, but if you’re using IE then I don’t know what it could be. My thoughts are that it probably isn’t on our end being there are 13,000+ members and only the one reported issue, but I am uncertain of what it could be so I will contact out IT Dept. and see if they have anything to offer.

Brian, if you can get to another computer log in and if you still have the problem it probably is your user profile (at Parallax) at least you will know if it is your computer or not.

Stephen,
I went to my ISP's office today and had them log in as me , same thing . I have 3 computers that lock up when ever I try to "big" reply or start a new topic on the forums. I can't download anything from the parallax website. I'm to the point that I really don't care if I can post or not.

I checked your account on the forums…There are no settings restricting you from anything (same as everyone else). I also checked our IP Blocking filter and your IP address is not in it (nor any range). I e-mailed one of our IT guys to see if he can follow up or offer anything. In the edit options there is a Forum Style setting. Is yours set to dotNetBB? How about the language preference? I know I am grasping at straws here but I can’t see what could cause this just for you on different computers.

Chris , big reply working now, still can't download from parallax site.

Edit working now , the only change I made was to change forum style setting·to parallax and log out , then changed it back to DotNetBB.

I brought the IT Dept. in just in case there’s some corruption in our DB for you which cause a problem indexing the messages when you post. I haven’t heard anything back yet, but I do find it weird that you also cannot download from our website. That problem wouldn’t even be related as far I can see.

Brian,

All you need to do to request a Parallax CD is call us, speak to our reception desk and they can send you one. Take care.

Brian,

The files you can't download are .exe files; the ones you can download are other types. You've apparently either got an overzealous spam filter on your computer, or your browser is set to exclude .exe files. At any rate, it's not the Parallax server that's causing the problem.

Well I have never really favored IE and only started using it when the combination of Netscape and Windows seemed to give me problems in the early to mid nineties. Being set in my ways I have always thought to myself "IE works don't mess with it".

I have tried Opera out of curiosity after reading this thread and so far I like the looks and feel of it, a good recommendation Phil.

Unfortunately, deleting his first message would remove the entire thread, since everything is associated to that message now.

Brian, I'm sorry you had posting trouble. No one is an idiot here, but there are varying degrees in lack of knowledge which is not a problem unless one is dealing with the law :)
