Needed, a gear box....

Hello again....I have just about exhausted my knowledge base and "Googles" in the quest for a·web site (robotics) that offers spur gears of different sizes (metel gears) to build a reduction gear box.· I know this is a broad question, and there are many different possibilities out there.·
I found two nice DC motors on ebay, that turn about 5000 RPM, draw 5 amps at 12 volts, and need to slow them down and increase the torque.· Shaft size is 3/8 inch.· I can adapt this shaft to just about any 2 to 1 gear box. If I could find one that doesn't cost more then a tank of gas.·
I found this one web site...Rush Gears...that had some nice gears, so I put in a quote request.· They got back to me with a quote of $2600 for one gear.· Price would go down if I bought a 1000 of them...well.....I guess they don't keep anything on the shelves.
I would be happy to check any and all web sites that any of you robotic people have discovered.

Designing the electronics, building the hardware and PCB's, writing the software, I find to be the easy part.· Finding motors and gearboxes has always given me a hard time.
Thanks again.
