Generate Object Code

Is there a tool for the Propeller that will allow one to generate a self loading binary image of the compiled program? Something a la “Generate Object Code…” of the Basic Stamp.

When you compile you get a ready to deploy binary file. You can either save it or use it to program the Propeller directly (eiter to RAM or to EEPROM). There is no support for libraries and linking and so on, and also not needed.

I understand what you are saying. What I want to know is if there is a tool that will allow one to distribute the firmware in such a way that the user can download it to the chip without having to use the Propeller Tool.

If you distribute it as a binary, it can be loaded from another binary, like PropDOS, and FemtoBASIC.

If you distribute it as an eeprom file, then you could use something like HAM.

Here is a firmware loader for the propeller based upon the recently released Propellent.dll

Note: This program is a 5 minute knock together and has not been thoroughly tested and it requires the DotNet 2.0 Framework to be installed.
