Hi I bought the above but after assembling the bot, I realise that stamp editor doesn't detect any basic stamps? I am using usb adapter to connect to my desktop but it just doesn't get detected. I tried lowering the latency timer to 1 ms and it still doesn't work.I already installed the driver for this.... Anyone have this problem? confused.gif

This problem is usually caused by bad power, chip installed backwards, non approved usb cable, drivers from FTDI or Parallax not installed BEFORE cable inserted ... or ... something else. Try those things and get back to us.

I believe the only possibility from the list could be bad power but how is that so? I follow exactly the instructions on the manual. I have doubled checked all connections and verify them to be correct. The entire package comes from parallax so I believe the usb adapter r232 is compatible there is green light but it just doesn't detect the surface mount basic stamp....

Well, your batteries could be low, you could be trying to power it from 4 NiMh (instead of 5).

You have a voltmeter, right? What is the voltage between Vdd and Vss?
