GUI

There is an interesting MicroGUI software product from a company called Rhombus http://www.rhombusinc.com/microgui.html. It should provide a good GUI PC to·Stamp interface, rather than using the more awkward Debugin function. It is·compatible with Stamp BS2, inexpensive and supposedly easy to use. However, they don't provide a user's manual or tutorial, and want you to learn the process via examples that they provide. I for one don't like to learn via this method (guess I failed the IQ test). It seems more cumbersome than developing your own code rather than using one of their applications that·may come close to your own application. Understanding someone else’s code, that may not be well documented is a grind.

So, does anyone have any experience with the Rhombus MicrGUI, that can provide a good explanation as to how to use it. Rhombus's response to this always gets back to, learn from the examples.

Sorry. I'm VERY fond of their "smt" "Simple-Multi-Tasking" module. For $8 or so you get a fixed frequency square wave, along with an 11 byte buffered RS-232 recieve. You use the square wave to give the BS2 a true real-time 'tick' you then use for multi-tasking. Extremely clever.

But I never got very far with the micro-GUI myself.
