Spin Stamp can be programmed but just writes junk to LCD

Have been working on a project all afternoon. With my latest update the Spin Stamp just writes gibberish to the LCD. I can load ram as well as EEPROM, but still get gibberish on the LCD. I have tried writting a simple spin program so as to "zero out" the eeprom but no luck. Not sure if this is significant but it always starts with ss¢VsZz

Am I screwed?

    Feel like a big dope now. The Spin Stamp wrote the right command to the LCD to change the baud rate to 2400 from 9600. OOPS!
