Variable speed motor control needed...

Does anyone have a working circuit that will vary the voltage to a dc motor, ·(speed control) , using either PWM for an input or perhaps some digital (3 bit,·I only have 3 I/O's left to work with) input.· I have already built the H bridges, but these H Bridges have no provision for speed control.· The H bridge (2 of them, one for each wheel) is controled by the stamp.· I would like to insert the speed controller between the output of the H bridge and the motor itself instead of pulsing the H bridge.

There are many circuits and approaches... how many amps will it need to support?

Thank you for responding PJ Allan, however, I prefer to build my own devices, if possible.· Yes, I have bought many Parallax devices, but if I can build it myself, I will.

As far as amps support, the DC motors I will be using can draw upwards of 15 amps.
