Hi there,
Just wanted everyone to know that Digi-Key (www.digikey.com) has just eliminated their handling fee for orders under $25.00USD.

Even foreign and Canadian orders no longer have a handling fee for small orders.

Just thought I'd share the news.

    That's great news! It should level the playing field with Mouser, who has never had a handling fee. So will they get small orders now that Mouser was getting before? Or will those who added extra parts just to make it to $25 simply order less? Maybe both. It would be interesting to see the net effect on their sales figures.

    Ya, it will probably be a little bit of both. But at least a person can go to either place and not have to worry about finding extra parts just eliminate a handling fee. I hope they decide to keep it this way, and not change back.

    RS here in the UK doesn't even charge shipping on orders.

    Leon, how do you rate RS? I used to use them at my old company but I find their online catalogue almost useless as there isn't pictures of most the components?

    On the plus side, I've just discovered the DigiKey UK website at uk.digikey.com for those of us on this side of the Atlantic.

    I can usually find what I want, but I find Farnell easier to use.

    For free carriage with RS you need a credit account. I agree the online catalogue is hard to use but they still do a paper catalogue(thank goodness)

    @Leon

    Hmm..· Before I got the company credit account I always paid·shipping - I had a personal account and paid by credit card.·Do you have a·Company·account and pay by credit card or·just a personal account?

    I had a look at·Digikey again in the UK and whilst they have no small order handling·fee the shipping on orders under £50 is·£12!
