5V tolerant Question

I have a Temp sensor that outputs a PWM signal to the propeller.· The Signal is 5V with a·range of·.8 mA to 1.3 mA output. At this low a current would any resistance be neccessary in a PCB I'm thinking of making for it? It is running fine on the protoboard without any resistance, and there is a cable run of nearly two feet to the sensor, so cutting the current too low could cause unwanted behavior. Not realizeing what·5V at 1.3mA·translates to at 3.3V over time has got me to wondering.
Thanks
