Guys and Girls,·

I am sitting at the airport ready to make my trip back home but wanted to take a moment to send out a very large and heart-felt thank you for the incredible experience that i had at Parallax over the last two days.· This company is incredible.· They are truely concerned for and about there customers.· It is very evident in the quality of people that they have employeed at all levels from the inprotant assemblers and shipping department to the maketing and tech support.·

I flew in to me Terry Hitt of Hitt Consulting who was coming to meet with Parallax about SX/B.· I have been working with Terry, assembling his boards for a couple of years an we have never meet face to face. So i took the opportunity to meet him in California rather than PA.· where he lives.

When I arrived in the parking lot and saw the GREEN WALL with the PARALLAX logo i knew that i had made it.· As soon as i walked in, i was greeted but the nicest staff.·

Terry and i were given a personal tour by Ken Gracey himself (He is an incredible person) and then gave us a demo of the QuadRover.· (Guys, This thing is incredible.)·

I then had an opportunity to sit in on some pretty cool meetings about products and SX/B

I meet Dave A. and Chris S. in tech support and was able to chat with them for awhile.

I guess what i am trying to say is that it was an incredible trip.· I meet some of the greatest people i know and it is just cool to know that i do business with· a company that is so cunsumer friendly and supportive.· Parallax won we over long ago with there products and support of those products and i am glad that i have had the chance to see it in acction.
················
····················· Thank You KEN, CHIP and PARALLAX

Sorry for the rambling
Brian Carpenter

I don't think it is possible to think of a complaint for parallax. Parallax is the best! Thanks everyone at parallax, I really appreciate your efforts!

I'm envious! If I live three hours away, I would have already made at least two trips. :)

Hey Parallax! How about someone grab a camera and have Chip or Ken or Paul do a video
tour of Parallax, Inc and add it to your new video section?? At $4 a gallon, I don't see a
trip in the near future, but I could enjoy it by video...

    Any seconds on this idea?

    [edit]
Better idea.. Fly me out! I'll being my camera! <SMIRK>

Brian and I had a great time at Parallax.

And we brought (and will be bringing) home a few treasures... Brian knows what I'm talking about ;) we both owe a great deal to Ken.

Here is a picture as proof of our visit.

P.S. I think the video tour is a great idea.

Brian, thanks for the kind words and taking time to visit us. It was a pleasure meeting you. As for a video of Parallax, fear not, the Marketing department is in the process of adding a video portion to our Parallaxian newsletter. We will be bringing you many different aspects of Parallax and one of those will be video's that include different portions of our facility. So stay tuned and we should have something put together in the next few months.

This is a reprint of a note I posted a while ago, but I thought it was relevant, given the topic.

    Mr. Gracey,

I can't tell you how much you have exceeded my expectations. About a year ago I was bored in a book store and bought a copy of Nuts and Volts to pass some time. I saw your ad on the back of the magazine and remembered how much I use to love building electronic stuff years ago. So, I read some articles about the BASIC Stamp and decided....why not try it out! I had always wanted to get into building animatronics and other microcontroller type projects. Now, almost a year later and I'm very glad that I found out about your company.

By the way, really enjoyed the article about you in the recent Make Magazine. I had already read the thread where they quoted you about the Prop Chip, and it really speaks to your dedication to the industry. I live locally and have driven out there many times to pick up new parts, because, some days I just can't wait for the mail.

One such time, I had my 8yr old son with me. Much to my suprise, one of your technicians invited him into the back and let him play with the little bots and the big Parallax sign. He hasn't quit talking about it since and now he's getting interested in all of the projects I'm working on.

I'd be willing to bet, you have influenced more people than you can imagine. For me, it's the little things a company does that earn my loyalty. I love what your company represents and you can be sure I'll be here supporting you.

    Take care,

    Dan

The cost of fuel is spiralling·prices out of control, petrol and diesel are going up on a daily basis here, The lorry drivers held a road blocking protest yesterday·closing a busy motorway into·central london. Its so ridiculous and has to stop eventually or the whole countries economy will collapse!

Have the world fuel prices had much impact over there?
