BS2E Blowout

I've been curious about why Parallax had that blowout sale on BS2Es in March. I'm probably not the only one here who·stocked up on $12 BS2E's (qty 20+). Even at the individual price of $22, it was a tremendous value. EBay sellers still have hundreds for sale at $20. The chips are RoHS compliant, so it wasn't an EPA fire sale. The only difference I am aware of is the temperature range, as these sale chips are commercially rated to 0 degrees C, while the new firmware BS2Es on Parallax' website·for $54 are industrial rated down to -40 degrees C.· Is this the only difference and·the reason they sold for so cheap? Now I'm looking for new places to use a Stamp... probably their strategy all along to get me hooked.

I think the new industrial rated BS2e's use an external brownout detector instead of the one built into the SX micro. I think you got a great deal!
