OT: Radio Control Book Recommendation

All--

I want to build a radio controlled lawn tractor. It will pull a mower deck and other accessories. The trouble is that I know nothing about radio control.

I want to be able to control solenoids and linear actuators capable of throttle manipulations. Additionally, I have to control the gearmotor/motor controller/microcontroller scenario (at least in my mind this is the way it would work) to make my lawn tractor move and navigate.

Will someone recommend a book for an R/C beginner that has no interest in planes, or little cars, or boats?

Thanks!

Bill, RC is RC, on Mythbusters Jamie set up servos and gearmotors to control a full size police cruser and had it doing donuts in the field. The controls are almost the same just more powerful. I'll look for books for you but most of them will be for smaller vehicles. You could also try the battlebot sites since some of those weigh up to 300 pounds or more.

    Stephen--

You sure make it sound easy . . . even to me. If you could possibly recommend a book published in the last 8 years or so I would really appreciate it.

My device will weigh about 150 pounds.
