Forum Search Function Broken?

When you use the search facility to search for keywords like
serial, duplex
and the option is "all of the words" nothing is returned. Yet there are many posts with both words.
Setting the option to "any of the words" returns many posts - many with both of the key words. For example the link to
http://forums.parallax.com/showthread.php?p=726607
should really have been returned by the first search. In fact, it looks like any two word combination using the "all of the words" option always returns no hits.
Just thought you might want to know.
Other options set were: propeller forum, any date,
