Connection from Board of Education by soldering?

Dear All,

I have·finished a project building a device. But now, I have got a little problem. In my project I need to take the RESET button out side of the case of the device·.·Because, the RESET button is on the board, and the problem is the Board of Education will be inside of the case, but I need it outside beside·a keypad (which is placed outside of the case).·So, I figured out that I will solder two wires from the RESET button and put a switch between them·which I can place outside (please see the attached image).

But now I··am bit confused that·when I solder the wires, will the RESET button or surface of·Board be hampered by the heat of solder? Yes so, then can anyone give me better solution please? Or is there other alternative way·of taking RESET button outside?

You're going to solder those wires to the reset button on the bottom of the board, right? That should work just fine. If you're planning on putting them on the topside, as your photo indicates, you probably will melt part of the reset button (which is made of plastic) in the process, but on bottom side you'll be just fine.

As you are using a BOE you can access the reset pin (pin22) through the breadboard and not take the risk of damaging the reset button, just take pin 22 low to reset the BS2

You havnt stated which stamp you have, if a BS1 then pin 6 is the reset pin
One other thing, the BOE is really for development rather than a finished project, is the case you are building going to take a lot of knocks? the links in the breadboard may get dislodged if the case is dropped or roughly handled.

I'd look at getting one of these for your completed project and save the BOE for prototyping.
