You may have to make/add some modifications to the basic BOE-BOT, but you can use the ping and the gripper. I've posted a photo of the BOE-BOT I'm working on and it has both. I've also added a servo controller with a second set of 5 batteries to power the servos. So far the only thing I've had problems with is the tread kit. The treads keep coming off, but they were doing that even before the modifications when they were just attached to the BOT-BOT chasis without the stand-offs to clear the Gripper. I think the treads may be streched and I may need to add a tensioner to the system.
How would you figure that out? Have you looked at the on-line documentation? It should show you how the Ping and Gripper are both attached to the chassis. You might be able to put the Ping servo on one end and the Gripper on the other, but is that what you want? Look at the pictures of how the CMU-cam attaches and compare that to how the LCD AppMod attaches. You could probably find some way to attach them both, but mechanically would that work for you? It would increase the BoeBot weight and change the balance. Would that still work for you?
