BS2 BOE communication error

Hey all,
first time playing around with the Boe-bot and trying to get it to communicate with the editor, but I'm having some issues. Loopback and Echo say Yes/Yes, but the BS2 and version are blank. I am running on Windows Vista with a Prolific USB-to-Serial cable using a serial boebot kit I got off of ebay. I've got the correct drivers for it installed (from Prolific) and I have performed everything from the troubleshooting section of the booklet.

One strange thing, trying different ports gives me a NO in Echo even after I defaulted the com setting to auto. Any help would be great, Im really looking forward to getting started with the robot. smile.gif

This happens when the power on the BOE-board is low. What are you powering it with?

Im powering it with the DC power supply from a different kit, I measured it and it read ~10.9V, I also tried the battery pack but had the same results.

Not all USB to serial adapters will work for Stamp programming. Pretty much anything with an FTDI chip will work and Keyspan's High Speed Serial Adapter will work.

Ok I'll try that out and hopefully that'll clear up the issue. Thanks guys
