I would like to start using M48Z2M1Y memory with Propeller. I see it needs quite a good number of pins...but I can afford them :)
Any of you has had experience with such memory?

Thanks
Nicola

Not specifically, but it's a pretty standard interface. You will still need at least one latch because the total pin count for the chip is 32, and you need to connect an eeprom (which takes 2 pins)

Are you aware of any other sram I could use? Basically I need some 2MB of memory and I am still looking around for the easiest&fastest solution.

    Thanks

One more question...I have never used SRAm...what is the eeprom for?

    1) There are some small serial (SPI) SRAMs, maybe 32K bytes. I've never seen anything remotely like 2MB in serial form. You'd have to make your own "controller", either using latches like Paul suggested or maybe a programmable logic array for SPI or I2C.

    2) The EEPROM is required for storage of the Propeller program unless you reload it from the PC every time.

    1) Yeap...I have seen them....I am not looking for 2MB serial SRAM..I am not a dreamer :) :) .... I just need a wide and fast memory to load images...actually I will generate the image in memory and push it to a dsiplay
    2) I thought he meant I needed an eeprom to manage the SRAM...sorry ... I am really tired tonight ;)

    Thanks!!!
