Hey all,

Any words of wisdom on the "Chip Connection Failed" error?

Using PDB (Professional Development Board), got error, swapped out SX28, got same error, swapped out resonator, same error.

Classroom environment, student may have connected something wrong.

Edited:

SX Blitz is fine because I programmed a different PDB with it.
Power supply is fine, because both PDB power indicator LED's light.

Try checking the power supply with a multimeter; the LED can still light up with less than +5V.

Make sure the /MCLR pin is being pulled-up to +5V.

Did you know that 111,111,111 multiplied by 111,111,111 equals 12345678987654321 ?

ok, 5vdc checks out.· /MCLR is high (I'm using the Prof Dev Board).

Double checked that SX-Blitz will program·another board and it does ok.·

Took out SX28 (#2)·and plugged in yet another one (#3) and it worked!

Swapped around the 1, 2, and 3 chips and discovered that I had two bad chips.

So the moral of the story is to never trust anything (grin).

    Thanks for the help guys!
