I wish to control higher power devices with the help of Darlington Array chip.

I read their specifications, a NUTS and VOLTS article as well as BASIC STAMP book about applications - not much help.

I need an actual explanation on how to connect to a relay and stamp.

Can anybody help ?

First, make sure you've got Nuts and Volts #6, Page 56 on hand. You'll need to connect the Ground pin to the Vss (ground) pin or something attached to that. Similarly, you'll need to connect the +Supply pin to whatever positive supply you want to use for the relay. If you have a relay designed for 12V, you'd need a +12V supply for the relay and the ULN2x03. You connect one end of the relay coil to an OUTn pin on the ULN2x03 and the other end to your relay power supply (where the +Supply pin was connected). The corresponding INn pin is connected to one of the Stamp's I/O pins.

When the I/O pin is made LOW, the relay is turned off. When the I/O pin is made HIGH, the relay is turned on.
