I just purchased a BOE-BOT.· I'm new to electronics and programming with microchips, other than·Phidgets with C#.· I have used the RIOS software package for the SSC-32, but have not programmed it directly.

I've Jumped around on the site after my purchase, looked at some youtube videos,··but I'm still not exactly sure what the propeller chip is for.· Is it something I can use with my BOE-BOT?

Anyone have a second to point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

The propeller is a "brain" like the basic stamp. It has however much greater capabilities than the Stamp, but is a little harder to learn how to use. You could get a spin-stamp and use that in your BOE-bot, it fits into the same socket as the Basic Stamp. If you are new to microcontrollers, I would work with the Stamp until you feel like you have "hit the wall" with it in your 'bot, then consider upgrading to a Prop.
