Controling a switch

I was wondering if anyone knows a way to control a switch through a microcontroller. I want to be able to open and close a switch with a basic stamp.

It depends on the switch. You can use a microcontroller to control a servo motor and mechanically couple the servo to the switch (depending on how it's built and how it is normally opened and closed). You might be able to substitute a relay for the switch and control the relay using a transistor and the microcontroller.
