Hi, sorry if this questions is overly obvious. As we are on a short time schedule. I need to make sure that the USB for the propeller is bi-directional.
Thanks for the help. Also, are we able to use the IDE on a vista machine?

Yes the ftdi circuit used with the propeller is bi-directional. And yes the IDE does work on Vista.

Vista users should not install the IDE in the default folder because UAC in blocking every file modification on the C:\Program Files folder.
Use a folder where UAC isn't active, like "My Documents" or a second partition on your machine.

It still works, its just if you want to access files saved through the File Explorer you have to navigate into the Local Store of your AppData. I can give the full path name when I go home (work system is XP).

    C:\Users\YourUserNameHere\AppData\Local\Parallax\Propeller Tool\ARv1.06· version folder

    another typical version folder: ARv1.05.8
