.BS2 attachments will not atomatically open using STAMP editor
In the past, whenever I clicked on a .bs2 attachment to a forum note, the code would automatically open in the STAMP editor.
·
Some time ago, I can't remember exactly when, it stopped doing this. When I click on a .bs2 attachment now, an "Open With" dialog box opens allowing one to choose from the list of programs or browse. When I click on the "STAMP editor V2.4"·in the list it displays the error message-
·
"C:\Documents and Settings\Kevin\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.EI5\CEK71UZH\barge2spd_xcr_may11[1][1],bs2 is not a valid Win 32 application"
·
If download the same file to a folder, and then open the STAMP Editor V2.4 and browse to this file and open the file, it works fine.
·
The OS is MS Windows XP, Media Center Edition, Version 2002, SP 2. I'm using the newer, tabbed version of IE.
·
Suggestions Please.

You could also re-install the program to get the association correct in the registry.

The program you're having trouble with is one of mine, so let me clarify.
The square brackets get put in by Microsoft to denote the first and second backups of the file. I don't know the details of why it happens that way.
Just save or rename the file without the square brackets and with a .bs2 extension and all will be well.
Cheers,
