Hello,

I just blown the PIC16F57 on·my BS2 PC assembly mad.gif
Can I try fitting a new·one ??
(the BS2 revJ schematic mentions a "custom" 16F57)

    Yes, right, it's more than a PIC16F57, it is specially programmed by Parallax.

    You can buy the programmed PIC16F57 from Parallax. Look under Components / ICs (Interpreter Chips) in their webstore.

    Due to the higher cost of the Interpreter Chip compare to the plain 16F57, and the relative high probability to burn it when welding, I will purchase a new BS2 eyes.gif

    I'm pretty sure we charge $25.00 to repair/replace blown up BS2-IC modules, so call for an RMA on Monday morning 888-512-1024 and we'll get it replaced for you.

    In world of electronincs it's called Soldering, not welding.·The difference is about·5000 degrees.

    Thanks Ken, but cost of transportation makes this solution not realistic
