gprmc,etc are compatible to bs2p ?

hi friends,
are GPRMC,GPVTG,etc compatible to bs2p? gprmc,gpvtg, etc are sentences or codes of NMEA 0183 ,(north american electronics association) usually operated on gps,etc. can gpvtg be used in basic stamp 2 p ? so, answer as possible ............... waitin !

    I can't tell what you mean "compatible". The Parallax GPS unit, for example, takes the raw GPS data (NMEA 0183) and, by default, extracts the position (and some other) information and presents it to the Stamp. It can be put in raw mode in which case it just presents the raw data to the Stamp. The program in the Stamp has to extract the parameters it needs and has to convert the data to a more useful format. The Stamp is limited by its speed of execution and the limited variable storage available, so it wouldn't be able to keep up with the messages coming in from the GPS, but these various messages are continuously repeated with the most current data.

    Hello,

    There is a Nuts & Volts article available for free download from our website which shows how the BS2p can buffer the incoming strings and extract the individual data from each field. I hope this helps. Take care.
